Hostel

The founding fathers of Pratap College recognized the need to provide residential facilities for students right from the establishment of the institution. Acting on the advice of the first Principal, Mr. K. R. Kanitkar, the Khandesh Education Society decided to construct spacious hostel buildings. In 1947, with the generous donation of Late Pratap Sethji, the first hostel building, "A" Block, was constructed. In 1948, "B" Block and the Mess Hall (now the Geography Department) were built. Another building, "C" Block, was completed in 1953.

Since its inception, the college has been committed to gender equality. This concern is reflected in both academic planning and execution. To ensure equal facilities, the college decided to build accommodation for female students. The first Ladies' Hostel was constructed in 1956–57. Today, there are separate, well-furnished hostel buildings for female students. A new Ladies' Hostel was built in 2010–11 at a cost of 85 lakh rupees, funded by a grant from the U.G.C.

In 1960, the Gujarati community constructed a new hostel, known as the Vaishnav Hostel. In 1972, with donations from Late Hashim Premji and a grant from the U.G.C., New Delhi, a new Gents' Hostel for postgraduate students was established. The college also constructed "D" Block, especially for students from low-income groups, providing affordable accommodation facilities.
